Failing the Test

The Philistines invade Israel with a massive army, and most of Saul’s army desert him. Samuel tells the king to wait for him and they would sacrifice to the Lord. The prophet doesn’t show up; so seven days later, Saul makes the sacrifice by himself. All of this was a test of faith, and the king fails the test. This Bible story is taken from I Samuel 13.

After the celebration of making him king, Saul goes back to the family farm. God used the Ammonites to force him into action. They attack an Israelite city and demand the right eye of each person in exchange for peace. This is a story of how Saul rallies the nation to protect that city. It is taken from I Samuel 11.
